Action commenced May 15, 1956 for personal injury and property damage to the plaintiff, Henry Plog, arising from an automobile collision at the intersection of East Walnut Street and South Madison Street in the City of Green Bay on November 15, 1955 at 4:55 p. m. The streets intersect at right angles. East Walnut Street is an artery for through traffic, 40 to 45 feet wide and running in an east-west direction. South Madison Street is not an artery for through traffic. It is 40 to 45 feet wide, and runs north and south. There are stop signs on South Madison Street for traffic approaching East Walnut Street. The plaintiff, Henry Plog, was driving a Pontiac car in a northerly direction on South Madison Street before and at the time when the vehicles collided. The defendant, Vernon Zepnick was operating a 3/4 ton International pick-up truck belonging to the defendant, Earl Zolper, in a westerly direction on East Walnut Street before and at time of the collision. The vehicles collided in the northeast quadrant of the intersection. The defendant, Mutual Automobile Insurance Company of Wisconsin, is the carrier of liability and property damage insurance on the Zolper truck.
